Cutting plans

Prepare stock

  1. Open Wood.
  2. Add available boards: dimensions, material, thickness and quantity.
  3. Check grain direction and cutting settings.

Material and thickness must match the parts. Account for margins and tool width.

Calculate the plan

  1. Select Calculate plan.
  2. Open Cuts and review the layout on each board.
  3. If any parts remain unplaced, check stock and its constraints before exporting.

Download and recover

  • Export contains the available downloads, including the technical report.
  • History lets you open saved plans.
  • Recalculate after changing dimensions: an older plan may no longer represent the current project.

The report distinguishes the finished contour from the toolpath. Do not confuse the toolpath with a physical setting on a saw guide.

Continue with manual layouts, history and exports or stock and offcuts.

The manufacturing method matters: the hardware-store mode prepares rectangular cuts, diagonal mode supports polygons, and workshop/CNC mode supports curves. A contour plan is not machine code or a valid sequence for every saw.
